Thanks to all our CIRCLE kidsplay
theatre and video camp
families!
What a terrific week of
creativity, confidence and fun!
KidsPlay Theatre and Video Camp helps children develop confidence, discipline and empathy while playing with others on and off stage. It is great for the child who loves to be center stage AND for the quiet one who needs a boost in self-expression skills. Every person has something to say no matter what their age, and KidsPlay allows children to gain the confidence and skills needed to express themselves constructively. Children begin with ensemble, imagination and improvisation exercises designed to spark the creative writing process. They then write short scripts in consultation with the instructors. Stage terms and techniques, voice, movement, and ensemble building will continue as the students rehearse their scripts for stage and film. Those in the film track will also learn video terms and techniques and film their scripts. A performance and short film viewing for family and friends takes place on Friday. Students are paired with different children in each phase to encourage socialization and ensemble. Throughout the week, students also learn appropriate audience responses and begin to analyze their work. We encourage (but not coerce) all students to both write and perform, so they are exposed to the entire play and film-making processes as they learn that what they have to say is worth being heard.
